Professor Kriegel holds a joint appointment in the Departments of English and History. She is passionate about her primary area of research and teaching in Victorian Studies. The denizens of nineteenth-century Britain, the Victorians were passionate about many things that LAMP faculty and students value today. They loved humanistic learning and aesthetic pursuits, and they held an equal appreciation for practical application and enterprising action. Professor Kriegel's teaching expertise extends beyond the Victorian period to address museum culture, military culture, life writing, and foodways. She is looking forward to joining the LAMP faculty after encountering many excellent LAMP students in her courses in recent years. She enjoys yoga, walking, coffee and good food, although her life's circumstances of late have led her to spend more time at skating rinks and at laser tag.
