Professor Knight is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Sociology Department. She earned her PhD. at Indiana University in 2014 and taught at Union College, a small liberal arts college in Southeastern Kentucky. Her research focuses on social inequality, crime, and the life course. She has been especially interested in the impact of mass incarceration on rural communities. In Fall 2018 she will begin working with LAMP students using quantitative methods to assist community partners with issues, questions, and challenges they face in their missions. She enjoys interacting with students and is excited to join LAMP and have the opportunity to work with some of the most talented students on campus.
