Liberal Arts and Management Program (LAMP)

I’m thrilled to have been appointed LAMP Director and to become a part of the LAMP family.  I have long admired LAMP from afar:  I have been a professor in the sociology department here at IU since 2003.  My own research has always involved a management component:  I study how people interact inside organizations, how those interactions create local organizational cultures, and how, through those interactions, organizations respond to pressures in their broader environments.  As you might expect, management plays a big part in those processes, and those dynamics matter for organizational success.  As LAMP Director I hope to continue the great success and tradition of LAMP, while using my knowledge of organizations and management to steer us further into the 21^st century.
